This blog is devoted to the translation of (relatively) little known and otherwise un/dertranslated Yiddish books, books which have little marketability (although really what translations let alone Yiddish translations have any marketabilit? And why should it? Yiddish literature, or at least "High Literature," was hardly profitable in its Golden Age, a tradition I am proud to continue.) It began with my own desire to translate the diary of Moyshe Varshe, a strange and marginal book to be sure, but one to which I felt a strange kind of kinship. With that translation more or less complete, the blog continues with other such fascinations.
