פארטײטשט און פארערגערט
Fartaytsht un Farergert

Early modern translations into Yiddish were often marked with the phrase fartaytsht un farbesert, translated and improved, referring to the various emendations, adaptations, and Judaifications made to improve – even kosher – the suspect original. Almost the same but entirely different, fartaytsh un farergert, translated and abused, offers original translations of suspect World Literature into an equally suspect Yiddish.
